Butter Me Up

Everything is better with butter. That includes cocktails. The Butter Me Up is a real crowd-pleaser. Azuñia Añejo tequila, rum, and homemade hot-buttered batter make this rich velvety cocktail more of a dessert than a drink. Seasoned with cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, and cloves, it’s the creamy after-dinner drink your celebration calls for.

 1.50 oz Azuñia Añejo Tequila
 0.50 oz Smith & Cross Rum
 1 tbsp Hot-Buttered Batter*
 34 oz Hot Water
 Top with Vanilla & Cardamom Whipped Cream**
Hot-Buttered Batter*
 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
 2 cups light brown sugar
 1 tsp ground cinnamon
 1 tsp ground Ginger
 ½ tsp ground Cardamom
 ½ tsp grated nutmeg
 Pinch ground cloves
 Pinch salt
Vanilla & Cardamom Whipped Cream**
 2 tbsp powdered sugar
 1 cup heavy cream
 ½ tsp vanilla extract
 ½ tsp ground Cardamom

Build first three ingredients in glass and top with hot water.

Stir until batter dissolves and top with whipped cream.

Yield:10 to 12 servings

In a bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.

Refrigerate until almost firm.

Mix all ingredients together and whisk until stiff peaks, or use an ISI cream charger.
